Challenge:Service providers worldwide are continuously challenged by competitive pressures and user demand to provide advanced services, including voice, high speed data and
video for both end users and enterprise customers. Copper-based
fixed T1/E1 lines still dominate many metropolitan city
telecommunication carrier networks. These fixed lines, although
low-priced, can only provide 2 Mbps of throughput for connecting
high-speed LANs that operate at more than 80 to 500 times the
bandwidth. This creates serious bottlenecks at points of
presence across the entire network, particularly outside the
innermost core. In many, fiber and leased line solutions are
either not available or too costly.
Solution:
The AireBeamTM
outdoor wireless solutions match fiber-optic
cable throughput but at a fraction of the recurring cost of
carrier-leased fiber-optic cable. Moreover, the Rayawave
solutions deliver the necessary throughput to support corporate
LANs operating at Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet
speeds—something leased T1/E1 lines and low-frequency
license-free radios cannot accomplish. And unlike many
competing technologies, 60GHz and 70GHz links can predictably
deliver up to 99.999% availability anywhere in the world.
